One of the most rewarding and fascinating visual art forms is photography. As my mentor once told me, “lighting alone will take you a lifetime to learn! There is always something new to figure out or try!” That comment stopped my thinking then and there, obsessed with that statement I had to know more. If you are like me you are intrigued and maybe a little obsessed by subjects that have endless discoveries. Anyone can take a picture but a true lover of the art of photography understands lighting, the way it illuminates, diffuses, creates emotions, and turns an ordinary picture into an image of power and beauty. If this sounds like something you would like to know more about please contact me to set up your private one on one session.

What qualifies me to teach these classes? Not only did I spend over 15 years as an educator, I have spent years learning from leading industry professionals in film and photography. I have also taught and worked in public television, teaching students how to operate studio lighting, set design, control room and directing, as well as editing. The skill sets transfer from one medium to another for the most part and added to my knowledge base. My mentors have worked for the largest companies in the world and they have taught me the techniques that I would like to pass along to you.

This is your chance to learn and progress quickly. As a former teacher in education I understand how to break down tasks in a meaningful way and design instruction to fit each individual. You don’t need any equipment or even a camera! As long as you have a phone or anything that takes digital pictures I can teach you to become a better photographer.
